Tusa Precision Tools

Pilot drill MTB27

The MTB27 drill is a combined tool that combines the ability to create both a countersink and to prepare a pre-drilled hole, followed by a deeper drilling. The pilot drill has been designed to provide maximum positioning accuracy by combining the high performance of the TUSA drill. The dimensions, as well as the tolerances, are perfectly coordinated with each other. The pilot drill can be used as a precision drill for machining difficult materials such as stainless steel or titanium alloys.
The cutting geometry as well as the shape of the groove has been developed to achieve high machining performance. The drill is supplied with a TiALN coating which, in addition to increasing hardness, protects the cutting edges from excessive wear.
The drills are available from stock from 0.8 mm diameter up to 3 mm diameter in sequences of 0.05 mm up to 3 mm diameter. The diameters are supplied standard with a tolerance k5, from > Ø 1 mm to < Ø 3mm = +0.004/0 mm For the subsequent drilling of difficult materials we suggest the high-performance drill TTD204, TTD209 and TTD215 for those who can take advantage of internal lubrication (through the spindle) or drillsTTD203 and TTD207 with the classic external lubrication cooling.
We always recommend to follow drilling method and indicative parameters for drilling with TUSA TOP DRILL. Naturally, customized versions with different diameters and lengths are also available on request.
In addition, the company offers a re-sharpening service for TUSA tools, contact us to discuss the best solution for your needs.
